The President (of the United States) toured Thailand and a whole bunch of other new places this weekend so he could, er, tour a bunch of new places mainly, but also to begin his ‘Asia-Pacific rebalance’. And meet new people. Uh-O, where’s Mooch?
Which is sort of like juggling, except with hand grenades, when one considers he’s leaving the Middle East and our ally Israel to the French and other goofy Europeans to sort out.
Anyway, they were honoring the Chief all over the place in Thailand and Burma and Cambodia with flowers and dinners and creepy murals that everyone had to notice and pretend weren’t creepy.
But anyway the President met a new friend.
All of this, you understand, with the looming Fiscal Cliff that Republicans are ready to roll over on like a Niagara Falls barrel diver.
Even Bill Kristol seems to like this whole idea of raising taxes on a handful of millionaires and billionaires. Because, let’s face it, being more like the Democrats is trending right now.
Now if we can just find a way to make life easier on a few million immigrants and stuff.
