KA-THUNK! Deal? What Deal?

Posted in Economy, RINO-Plasty, The Wrong Right Turn with tags , , , , , on January 1, 2013 by Regular Right Guy

thLet’s suppose that Barack Obama has the public mandate he claims. Just suppose, because it is at best delusional and at worst a bald-faced lie. But let’s suppose. Why then is he being so adversarial? Why is he being outright rude?

Just google “Obama Blames GOP” and stand back for the avalanche of hits in which the President is saying something rude about his opponents, even in victory.

“Obama says ‘pressure is on Congress,’ blames GOP as fiscal deadline nears”  a headline in The Hill read two days ago. “Obama: The buck stops with GOP on ‘fiscal cliff’” read the Washington Times 24/7 after Obama appeared on Meet the Press Sunday.

Magnanimous is not a word to be associated with the name of Barack Obama.

The culmination of last night’s deal, incidentally, yielded $41 in tax increases for every $1 in spending cuts. Something the Drudge Report is calling the “New Republican Math.”

Last week, Charles Krauthammer lauded Obama’s “Great Skill, Ruthless Skill,”  in the fiscal cliff negotiations. He went on to say Obama drove a wedge between conservative and establishment Republicans. Michelle Malkin agreed.

We don’t. The wedge was already there; Obama merely took advantage of it. Day after day, it seemed, Barack Obama echoed the sentiments of conservatives across the country in lambasting John Boehner and others in the GOP leadership for their mishandling of the fiscal cliff talks.

There should have been no talks.

Boehner knew his mandate; his national constituency expected not one dollar of tax hikes without drastic cuts in spending and entitlements. Instead, he allowed Obama to frame the debate as a GOP defense of the greedy wealthy.

There has been nothing masterful about Obama’s “coup” in the fiscal cliff negotiations. He will strut and boast personal greatness and pillory greedy Republicans,  and the national media will continue to front him as he does it. Even Fox News will treat the President as though he has a defensible position. Fair and balanced.

Obama has no legitimate position, and the media and establishment Republicans have let him get away with this ruse.

In fact all the House Republicans had to do was pass their own bill and send it over to Harry Reid’s burn box. Then allow the Democrat bill to come to the floor and vote “present.”

Obama would have owned whatever tax hikes came as a result.

Instead, Boehner is now faced with forging a coalition of Democrats and RINOs in the House to pass a bill that makes not even the interest payments on our debt.

But there is plenty of blame to go around in the Republican Party.

Conservatives should stand firm and communicate with their local constituencies, hammering home the spending cuts message. And press on to 2014, when the establishment is sure to face a very angry electorate.

Our sincere thanks and best wishes for the New Year to the Drudge Report, BreitbartHotair.com, Michelle Malkin, Townhall.com and all of the other great conservative blogs that have graciously linked our essays this year. God bless you, one and all.

Boehner: Going to the Edge of the Fiscal Cliff is Obama’s Deliberate Strategy… Well Duh, John!

Posted in Barack Obama, Economy, John Boehner, The Wrong Right Turn with tags , , , , , on December 7, 2012 by Regular Right Guy

John-BoehnerRemember how the 1980s was the decade of the jocks? Gretsky, Jordan, Schwarzenegger? And how 1990s was the era of the nerd? The geek in your fourth period math class was suddenly the hippest, and richest, guy on the planet?

Well, the 2000s is sort of like that but this time it’s dumb Republicans.

The Daily Caller:

House Speaker John Boehner said on Friday that going to the “edge of the fiscal cliff” is President Obama’s “deliberate strategy” in negotiations between the White House and congressional leaders.

“Four days ago we offered a serious proposal based on testimony of President Clinton’s former chief of staff. Since then there’s been no counteroffer from the White House. Instead, reports indicate that the president has adopted a deliberate strategy to slow-walk our economy right to the edge of the fiscal cliff,” Boehner said at the Capitol on Friday.

Last week, Secretary Tim Geithner proposed a $1.6 trillion White House plan that includes raising taxes on families making over $250,000 per year and giving President Obama the power to unilaterally increase the nation’s debt limit.

Now you see, John, here’s how it works. First you get elected to a position you are completely unqualified to hold. (There’s an old book on this: It’s called The Peter Principal. You should read it.) Then, through insider craft, backroom deals and backstabbing, you finally take over the top job.

Let’s fast forward.

Now by this time virtually no one in the country has any faith in you, outside of your own district in Ohio. But, if nothing else, you have learned to ape a true leader, so you manage to hang on to your speakership.

You wield an iron fist because you remember how it was when you tried to unseat a speaker, the man who gave you your first break.

So here we are. You are a survivor. Totally out of your depth but a survivor nonetheless. Then someone comes to town who is even dirtier and more underhanded than you. And you enter into negotiations with that someone, who really has no intention of negotiating at all.

Bear with us for a moment; this isn’t over. Next you freeze out anyone who disagrees with you when you try to cave in to the opposition. Because what do they know about big time Washington politics? Right?

You, after all, are the speaker.

So, having retained your power, you go on national television and make a buffoon out of yourself day after day, oblivious to the fact that you have already lost the debate.

There. Wasn’t that easy?

Gingrich Unloads on GOP Sissies

Posted in Election 2012, RINO-Plasty, Sarah Palin, The Wrong Right Turn with tags , , , , , , , on November 29, 2012 by Regular Right Guy

Are the lines being drawn or what? I for one could have endured four years of Callista’s rictus grin and suicide-run hair bobs for a win. Tradeoff? Two words: Michelle Obama. Think about it.

The Daily Caller:

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said Wednesday that House Republicans should stop negotiating with President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats on the fiscal cliff, saying that by doing so, they give Obama all of the leverage in the talks.

“One of the things I would say to House Republicans is to get a grip,” Gingrich said in a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif.

“They are the majority. They’re not the minority,” he said, enunciating the words as if explaining the concept to someone who did not understand it. “They don’t need to cave in to Obama; they don’t need to form a ‘Surrender Caucus.’”

“So my number one bit of advice to the congressional Republicans is simple: Back out [of] all of this negotiating with Obama. The president is overwhelmingly dominant in the news media. You start setting up the definition of success finding an agreement with Obama, you just gave Obama the ability to say to you, ‘Not good enough,’” Gingrich said.

One question: Does this mean John Boehner has to cancel his green reservations?

Not only does the GOP spend a billion bucks cramming a clueless loser down our throats, but then they say, Mr. President, we’ve already been spanked, please screw us now.

No really. This is embarrassing. When will the GOP wake up and realize that Democrats don’t want a deal? They are completely gaming you morons, and you’re still playing Ward Clever for the media. Grow the *#@%!! Up!!!

This is the reason so many Tea Party stalwarts stayed home. The establishment spent two years going out to destroy Sarah Palin and the 2010 grassroots revolt, and they come up with this as a winning alternative?

Hunch: Obama Doesn’t Want A Deal To Avoid The Fiscal Cliff

Just a thought, but…

Hot Air:

Everyone came away from the initial summit meeting between Obama, Boehner and Reid with big smiles and a public air of confidence that Friday’s kumbaya moment would lead to The Big Deal. Call me a cynic, but I’m still not buying it. Yesterday, AP touched on a part of this story, tossing out some ideas about how everyone – particularly Democrats – might walk away with relatively clean hands if no deal is reached on the fiscal cliff this year. It’s all true, but for some of us there’s a bit more to the story. The Democrats, for their part, seem to have plenty to gain and not much to lose.

Show of hands… How many of you guys would just love to get John Boehner into your Thursday night poker game?

Rubio Makes His Iowa Debut As Possible ‘Future’ Of The Republican Party

¿Usted habla a Demócrata? Make no mistake, Marco Rubio is the ‘future’ of the party. Because he’s, like, Cuban-American and everything.

File under: The Democrats Do it This Way

Daily Caller:

ALTOONA, Iowa – As the Republican Party regroups after Mitt Romney’s defeat, the message Saturday night at Iowa Republican Gov. Terry Branstad’s birthday fundraiser was “turn the page” and “look to the future” — and what that future apparently holds is Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, the event’s featured speaker.

Rubio was invited to speak at the event around Sept. 1, Branstad told The Daily Caller, and had Romney won, the atmosphere might have been a bit different.

But only 11 days after voters went to the polls and Republicans came up short, Rubio was speaking to a crowd that had trained its sights squarely on 2016.

And Reince Priebus thought those college Spanish classes were a waste of time. Here’s a thought, guys. Why not just message conservative ideas to Americans. Sort of ‘un-RINO’ so to speak? Then Hispanics might not think you’re trying to contrive a message targeting, well, Hispanics.

Novel idea Ronald Reagan came up with.

Obama Consults with Al Sharpton on Fiscal Cliff

No, really, this is not a SNL skit.

Weekly Standard:

This afternoon, President Barack Obama consulted with MSNBC host Al Sharpton, who’s also assicated [sic] with the National Action Network (NAN), about the fiscal talks between the White House and Congress. At the same meeting, Obama also consulted with other “leaders of civil rights and civic organizations.”

Via the pool report:

President Obama and Vice President Biden met with leaders of civil rights and civic organizations to discuss negotiations over how to avoid the fiscal cliff. The meeting lasted over an hour, and participants spoke to reporters outside the West Wing after they wrapped up.

Isn’t this a little like going to Tawana Brawley for rape counseling?

Rockets Fired From Egypt Hit Israel

How’s the Obama Middle East-Northern Africa policy working out for you guys?

Via Drudge:

Two major Israeli newspapers are reporting that rockets fired from Egypt have hit Israel.

“Terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula launched rockets into Israel Friday night,” reports the Jerusalem Post. “The rockets fell near an Israeli village on the southern border, causing some damage, but no injuries.”

The Israeli daily Haaretz reports, “Rockets fired from direction of Egypt toward Eshkol Regional Council.”

It appears no damage was reported in connection with the rocket fire from Egypt. Earlier today, the Egyptian prime minister visited Gaza to express solidarity with the Palestinians there.

This new front comes a day after a rocket landed near Tel Aviv and on the same day Israel’s capital Jerusalem was the target of rocket fire. Those attacks were courtesy of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Not to be un-PC here, but…

Which is better for U.S. interests, a couple of tame dictators in Egypt and Libya, or a couple million former goat herders potentially armed with rockets and missiles indiscriminately firing at women and children in Israel? Go ahead; take some time with this.

Clue: Don’t ask CNN.

Or Kim Kardashian as it turns out.

Trumka Takes Dumka In The Twinkies Isle

This should have the million or so dope-smoking Democrats who voted for Obama thinking twice when they head for the munchies cabinet…. Then again, they are on dope.

Big Government:

President Obama’s strongest union backer, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, has injected himself into the Hostess bankruptcy, blaming capitalism for the shutdown of Hostess rather than an intransigent union. Today, he issued this statement:

What’s happening with Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with America, as Bain-style Wall Street vultures make themselves rich by making America poor. Crony capitalism and consistently poor management drove Hostess into the ground, but its workers are paying the price. These workers, who consistently make great products Americans love and have offered multiple concessions, want their company to succeed. They have bravely taken a stand against the corporate race-to-the-bottom. And now they and their communities are suffering the tragedy of a needless layoff. This is wrong. It has to stop. It’s wrecking America.

Bankruptcy phftttt! If you capitalist pigs would just stop worrying about making money and stuff, us union lemmings could get back to our twenty minute coffee breaks.

Allen Emailed Jill Kelley Re ‘Deep-frying Koran’ Radio Stunt

Tampa Bay Times:

TAMPA — In March, Jill Kelley said U.S. Gen. John Allen needed her help.

In emails obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, she claimed Allen, commander of the U.S. war effort in Afghanistan, called and emailed her seeking assistance in tamping down a threat by disc jockey Bubba the Love Sponge Clem to “deep fat fry” a Koran….

In emails to Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Kelley said Allen was worried the radio stunt could put troops in harm’s way. She said then-CIA director David Petraeus and Vice Admiral Robert S. Harward also contacted her about lending a hand.

“I have Petraeus & Allen both emailing me to get this dealt with,” she wrote Buckhorn March 7.

Well, first you bring the oil to a rolling boil, then you sauté the pages lightly in breaded golden curry sauce before… Ohhhh, he meant how NOT to deep fry a Koran.
