Gun Control: What’s Next? They Take Your Kid’s T-shirt…

Chuck_SchumerUPDATE

Without question some citizens should not be trusted with guns. Eric Holder, for example. But on the whole Americans are responsible with guns. Only about 11,000 homicides a year are committed with guns; almost three times as many deaths are the result of traffic accidents.

We now know that the Tsarnaev brothers did not have permits for their guns. In Boston. A town with some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the country. Unregistered. Guns. Used to kill an MIT cop.

LOGIC ALERT! This may be an indicator that gun control laws are irrelevant to those who intend to misuse them. Common sense is tough.

But you see where this is going? The Left is more interested in affecting a pretense of doing something than actually curbing gun violence. They gave up on the inner cities, where most gun violence occurs, 50 years ago. They’d rather wussify your kid.

Look at the whole PC policing thing that goes with this onslaught against the Right to Bear Arms.

Most of you have probably heard about the teenager who was suspended and, astonishingly, arrested for wearing a NRA t-shirt to class last week. He returned to school today wearing the same shirt, and was greeted by a class of kids wearing similar shirts.

This is one of the best arguments I can think of for not arming teachers and instead putting armed guards in schools. Public school teachers are historically stupid.

Not only should Americans not surrender their guns to these nutcakes, they shouldn’t allow their kids in the same room with them! If  Democrats want to restrict something they could prevent Anthony Weiner from reinstating his Twitter account. Now that would be a public service.

The Second Amendment has its root in English Common Law dating back to the English Bill of Rights in 1689. English law draws the right from the Magna Carte in 1215, but even before that the right to personal defense was universally believed—by everyone but the Crown—to be inherent.

Sir William Blackstone (1723-1780) said “the right to keep and bear arms is the natural right of resistance and self-preservation, when the sanctions of society and laws are found insufficient to restrain the violence of oppression.”

Whenever in our history has that sentence been more applicable than right now?

This natural law has been in place throughout all of recorded history in every free society; the Bible is full of examples. And history is also full of examples of societies suffering the consequences after surrendering their firearms. Hitler confiscated Jews’ guns, and then confiscated the Jews.

Of course it is ridiculous to believe that Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein and Chuck Schumer don’t know what they’re doing. They think only the government can be trusted with guns.

Let’s see. We’ve trusted them with our Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare, our massive petroleum reserves, our education system, even our light bulbs… So they’re kidding, right?
