Barry’s Week: Obamacare Not So Caring, Clarence Thomas is Uppity Again, and Mexicans Would Be Alive Today, If There Were No America or Something

chuck-schumer-flight-attendant-b-word-win-mcnameeSenator Schumer Explains Why You Should Read a Bill Before You Pass a Bill and Everything

Hot Air:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has already admitted that the “affordable” in the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” is something of a misnomer, to say the least, and with all of the hidden costs and complexities the law’s implementation is slowly but surely revealing, Democrats have every reason to be nervous. As Josh Kraushaar put it at NJ:

While the debate over Obama’s health care law isn’t a life-or-death battle, health care affects voter livelihood (and their voting decisions) like few other issues do. And there are clear signs that if premiums go up, businesses are forced to change how they insure their employees, and implementation of the law is uneven, the potential for political consequences are significant. In the 2010 midterms, Democrats suffered a historic landslide when the debate over health care was abstract. The stakes could be even higher when voters have first-hand experience with its effects. Now if we just had a dime for every time Washington has told us, “Trust us…”

Watch out for that tree!

Clarence Thomas is Being Uppity Again you guys…

Clarence-Thomas-WC-9505658-2-402Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas caused some buzz this week when the always snarky MSM picked up comments he made about Barack Obama on CSPAN on April 9.

The Supreme Court’s lone African American Supreme Court Justice took what some see as a subtle swipe at the nation’s first African American president in a CSPAN event that aired April 9 and recently popped up on YouTube.

When asked if he expected there would be an African American president in his lifetime, Clarence Thomas said at a Duquesne Law School event that he never doubted there would be, adding that he “knew” the first black president would have to be someone “approved by the elites and the media.”

“I always knew that it would have to be a black president who was approved by the elite, and the media, because anybody they didn’t agree with they would take apart.” [Yeah, there’s more]

Okay, this is delicate. But don’t we have to consider Justice Thomas’s opinion here somewhat informed. Since he has been scurrilously attacked for decades as a white-man’s puppet, the low-information justice, and one liberal website even voted him No. 2 House Negro in 2011?

Tell me something: Does Barack H. Obama even know a black person, besides his wife, who doesn’t have VALET printed on his White House identity card? Uh… Jeremiah Wright? Nope.

Obama Apologizes For Fast & Furious

Obama-gunIn a scathing admission of the culpability of his administration, President Obama went before the Mexican media today and apologized for Fast & Furious… Okay, maybe not. But he did say the United States is the dirtiest, lowdownest killer of Mexicans since Selena’s fan club president.

Real Clear Politics:

“Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States,” President Obama said during a speech at Mexico’s Anthropology Museum. “I think many of you know that in America, our Constitution guarantees our individual right to bear arms. And as president, I swore an oath to uphold that right, and I always will.”

“But at the same time, as I’ve said in the United States, I will continue to do everything in my power to pass common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people. That can save lives here in Mexico and back home in the United States. It’s the right thing to do,” Obama added.

Okay, first, the U.S. is not the top exporter of guns into Mexico, or at least wasn’t until Eric Holder took over the Justice Department. So there’s that. Secondly, criminals cannot legally own guns in the U.S., and nothing in Barry’s gun grab so far has done a thing to stop them from obtaining guns illegally, just as they have for 237 years.

So, the part about “doing everything in my power to pass common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people”? Maybe not so much.

But Barry’s in a foreign country; he has to apologize for something.
