This is rich. That loud plaintive wale you heard yesterday was your neighborhood Associated Press hack, screaming at the top of his/her lungs because the Obama administration has violated their First Amendment rights. Maybe. I mean it is Barack Obama, so maybe it’s just Fox News getting people in a tizzy. Or something. We’ll have to ask Barry, and if he says it’s no biggie, there is no there… Right?
In a letter to Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., the AP’s president and chief executive, Gary B. Pruitt, said that the Justice Department sought information beyond what could be justified by any specific probe and demanded that the government return the phone records and destroy all copies.
“There can be no possible justification for such an overbroad collection of the telephone communications of The Associated Press and its reporters,” Pruitt wrote to Holder. “These records potentially reveal communications with confidential sources across all of the newsgathering activities undertaken by the AP during a two-month period, provide a road map to AP’s newsgathering operations, and disclose information about AP’s activities and operations that the government has no conceivable right to know.” [Read]
Don’t feel good, does it?
Maybe now someone in the mainstream media will grow the balloons to dig deeper into what this administration has really been up to for four and a half years. Wait. First, maybe they should grab a quick primer on Muslim terrorists who attack our diplomatic outposts and kill Americans. Might be a story there.
Let’s see. That’s what? Three scandals? Benghazi (that’s the one that happened a long time ago), the IRS has expanded from bean counters in Cincinnati to the D.C. bureau, and now Eric Holder is mining Associated Press phone records for heavy breathers… And there are rumors of more to come.
It has been 40 years to the week since Watergate. Isn’t it time Hollywood remakes All the President’s Men? That’ll make a cool distraction. Uh… second thought maybe not. People may realize Nixon looks like a public nuisance compared to Barack Obama.
Just when will the U.S. media realize that gangster politics doesn’t end with a little tea party chapter in Waxahachie? Chicago hasn’t produced a more corrupt group of beer truck gunners than Obama and his cronies, since the 1920s.
Matt Drudge’s tweet yesterday should be fair warning to media outlets, sources and bloggers alike.
Warning to reporters and sources: Assume all your communications are being monitored. Time to move back to the parking garage #longhotsummer
From the day Regular Right Guy blogged his first criticism of the Obama White House, I considered myself hacked. No enemy is too insignificant for these thugs, and that’s who the American people are to them: the enemy.
Not a hobby for wimps or RINO sissies.
PS— I may have been wrong about that whole impeachment thingy.
